shrybe
what we keep, what we delete, what we never see.

Privacy,
plainly.

shrybe has no accounts, so most privacy questions answer themselves. This page covers the rest: what passes through our servers, how long anything lives there, and when analytics run. Plain English — the legal-document version can wait until there is something complicated enough to need one.

What we collect

There is no signup, no email field, no password, no user profile. When you paste a URL, our backend fetches the audio, runs it through Whisper, and streams the transcript back to your browser. When you upload a file, the same thing happens without the fetch step. We keep a per-IP counter so the 15-per-day free limit works; it expires within 24 hours. That is the whole list.

What we delete, and when

Cached audio is deleted within 24 hours by a nightly cleanup job. Transcripts are not stored on our side — they live in your browser. The one exception is a share link: if you explicitly create one, that transcript is stored so the link keeps working. Delete requests for a share link: email us and it is gone.

We do not republish, train on, or analyse what the free tier transcribes. If that ever changes for some future feature, this page will say so before the feature ships — not after.

Analytics — only after you say yes

We use Microsoft Clarity (session replays, heatmaps) and Google Analytics to see what breaks and which pages help. Neither loads until you click Allow in the consent note — before that, no analytics script runs and no analytics cookie is set. Choose No thanks and they stay off; your choice is remembered in your browser (localStorage key shrybe-consent), and clearing site data resets it.

We run no ads, sell no data, and have no data-sharing partnerships. Analytics here answers one question — "is the tool working for people?" — and nothing else.

Who to ask

Anything unclear, or a deletion request: hello@shrybe.com, or @shrybe_ai. A human from the shrybe team reads both.

Less data is less to explain.

How we write and correct content lives at /editorial-standards; the money side lives at /pricing.
